This customer in Cowley, Oxfordshire spotted some of our custom stair runners on Instagram and decided to get in touch. She has a beautiful Victorian home with a brick feature staircase and herringbone flooring, and wanted something that would complement the quirky character of the property while still being hard-wearing, unique and completely bespoke.
After a consultation at the premises with our runner samples, we decided on a design with an additional piped/taped border detail. This involves applying one tape first, and then another over it, to create the distinctive line around the runner. This is a slightly more costly addition, but it is absolutely worth it for the finished effect.
We chose to upholster the carpet directly to the stairs, rather than using the more traditional fitting method. The purpose being to give a cleaner, more tailored finish.
The colours were chosen to perfectly complement the exposed brick, herringbone flooring and interior styling. One of the main advantages of our on-site consultations is the ability to try out the products in the actual situation they are being fitted. The lighting and surrounding environment all have an impact on how colours and materials work together.
