I’m Neil Hanlon, owner of Classic Flooring Oxford. My journey in the flooring industry began at just 14 years old, during a two-week school work experience placement, alongside a professional floor fitter. What started as an introduction to the trade quickly became a career that has now spanned more than 30 years.

After leaving school, I was fortunate enough to work alongside an experienced fitter, Kevin Manuel, who taught me much of the trade and helped build the foundations of the standards I still work to today.

By the age of 19, I was working independently for one of the UK’s major flooring retailers, with my own team and responsibility for a large proportion of the store’s installations. I remained one of the store’s lead fitters for more than 19 years and was proud to be recognised as Flooring Fitter of the Year across the company.

Then I decided to take a different path. I believed customers needed something better than large flooring retailers could offer them: better workmanship, better products, better value and, above all, a more personal and honest service.

That decision led to what is now Classic Flooring Oxford.

This has always been at the heart of Classic Flooring Oxford. We don’t rush installations simply to move on to the next job. We take the time to prepare floors correctly, pay attention to the details and install every floor to a standard we’re proud to put our name to.

Our Partner Showroom

Alongside Classic Flooring Oxford, I am also a partner in Classic Flooring Ltd, an established flooring showroom in Pangbourne. This gives our Oxford customers the best of both worlds: the personal service of a local independent flooring specialist, combined with access to a full showroom and direct relationships with leading flooring manufacturers. These relationships allow us to offer excellent products at competitive prices without relying on unnecessary middlemen.

Customers are welcome to visit the showroom, or we can bring a selection of samples directly to their home, offer advice, measure and provide a quotation.
