Sub Floor Preparation

We take great care to ensure your new flooring is installed to the highest possible standard, and that starts with thorough preparation of the surface beneath it.

Before installation, we inspect the existing floor to identify any potential issues, including uneven areas, cracks, movement or signs of damp. We then make sure the subfloor is clean, sound, dry and suitable for your chosen flooring.

Smoothing Compound

Where required, smoothing compound can be applied to create a level, even surface. This is a specialist liquid material that fills minor imperfections and uneven areas, providing a smooth and stable base for your new flooring.

Plywood Sheeting

In some situations, plywood sheeting may be installed over the existing subfloor to provide a strong, stable and level surface. This can be particularly useful where the existing floor requires additional stability or where the condition of the subfloor makes it unsuitable for direct installation.

Taking the time to prepare the subfloor properly helps your new flooring look its best, perform as it should and stand the test of time.
